The aim of the UNYANET blog is to share knowledge, perspective and opinions on political and international issues worldwide. The stories blogged through UNYANET will be published at http://blog.unyanet.org. UNYANET will try to publish at least one story per month. The stories will be published under the name of the author: an individual from a member organization or an outside guest writer.
Who should blog?
You should blog for UNYANET if you have an appropriate topic on your mind on which you would like to write from an appropriate approach. Most importantly, your blog should increase the service value of UNYANET and its content should correspond to UNYANETs values and PR policy.
Members of UNYANET member associations as well as guests are allowed to blog. In order to agree on the topic and the schedule, write an email to [email protected] including your full name and a proposal.
Why should I blog for UNYANET?
You can also benefit from blogging for UNYANET by getting feedback from the readers. You can for example test a potential hypothesis of your Master’s thesis or a research idea of yours by writing a article about the assumption and see if other people agree with you. For UNYANET, you can blog just once so it’s a good opportunity to start writing even if you don’t want to start your own blog because you aren’t really sure if you will keep writing after the first story.
What kind of topic?
UNYANET welcomes stories addressing any political or international issue. The topic should be current and interesting to a wider public. This doesn’t mean that the issue cannot be national, described from a national point of view or address a historical issue. As long as it might raise interest internationally, we will consider it.
What kind of approach?
The stories should be written most importantly with respect to the values of the UN. The writing has to be fact based but you can include your own views and opinions. The approach can be more or less academic or scientific and include argumentation but it can also be a result of more creative writing for example a humorous description of a failed political decision – just make sure it’s written within good taste. Critical approach for example even towards the values of the UN is allowed as long as it’s well argued and backed with facts. UNYANET won’t publish offensive, immature or commercial stories.
